Illustrating my first children's picture book

When completing my foundation diploma in art and design, for my final major project I chose to create a children's picture book wich I wrote and illustrated myself.

The books title is "There's Rubbish in my reef!" It aims to raise awareness and educate younger children about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution and littering on our oceans. While appealing to them with bright colours and fun and friendly characters.

I illustrated and designed the book using the app procreate. this allowed me to illustrated different scenes with the same characters and arrange them in different positions.

This project taught me a lot about the process of illustrating a book, from designing the charecters to planning the layout of each page. The process took longer than expected as I faced a few challenges when designing the book. However I found it a very rewarding process and I was proud of the end result. I look forward to illustrating more children's picture books in the future.
